My wife, bored after 3 days shopping in Auckland, before heading out to the countryside, which was outstanding

Good capture of boredom, I would almost say that this looks like a very sad image. The colors are a bit bland, and I think there is a faint cast that I cant put my finger on, but these are minor points. As a portait I really like it.

although less than inpsiring expression. I agree with Wilfred's comment, seems to be a slight green or blueish cast. Still a very nice photo, hope her mood improved in the NZ countryside.

Andrew, to get rid of the cast, you may want to try Image -> Adjust -> Auto Color, (or Auto Levels). Alternatively you could select Image -> Adjust -> Levels (or Curves), select the grey eyedropper and click on a point in the image that should be neutral grey.
