Just great.

How did you make this beauty?

Knut Skjærven     07-Mar-2003 at 13:35

very painterly!

Wonderful abstract. Love the washes of tones and the scrubbed look in places. I use painting terms because it looks so much like a painting. You compared one of my photos to a watercolor. I have to return the favor. Very, very nice!

Gregg,

What a beauty!

This would make a beautiful print

Gregg: this is really nice. I think it's the best of the three you posted. I'm at a loss to comment specifically, but it just looks great. Maybe it should be viewed like the old Rorschach ink blot test, and ask people what they see in it.

Expression . . .

Gregg, I do agree this image is intrinsically beautiful.

Great mind-melting you made me feel. Congrats!

I forgott to ask you: I tried a lot of times to photograph water reflections, but the focus was everytime fooled. I put it manualy, guessing distance. Do you know other trick to focus on such a subject?

Thanks to everyone for the comments. This image was truly a gift from the river and sunlight. I only cropped and slightly enhanced with levels, a bit of spotting w/ PS healing brush and very mild USM. Perhaps someday I'll post the entire uncropped scene, but I believe the mystery is part of the image's strength. Cosmin, I simply autofocused on a distant part of the scene, f/8 or higher, and let the foreground DoF fall where it may.

I see

several faces in this image. This is just a killer abstract Gregg. This is three 9s in a row for me which is very unusual. When it rains it pours.

Kevin and Lincoln, thanks for the kind and interesting comments, glad you like the image. As they say, it's all in the eye of the beholder ;^)

Stunning

If it was a gift, I need another birthday...
