Untitled (3) - Jacob Langston

Boardwalk ride in Daytona Beach. Not sure what she is pointing at, but it was kind of funny. Shot on b&w film with a dark red filter to deepen the sky.

This image poses the question, just who or what is the girl pointing at .... a very decisve moment

To tell the truth, the snip of narrative in the girl's aimed finger is really secondary to the graphic impact of this shot.

and executed, candid and graphic at the same time. The only very slight distraction for me is the dense area around the persons trousers seated on the right - easily sorted for printing mind. Overall, very nicely done.

Great composition. The empty white gondola in the foreground balances/contrasts with the peopled black one in the background. Very unsharp, though, and in a way that doesn't seem to contribute (i.e., it doesn't clearly come across as intentional). I've more or less stopped using the red filter, as to my eye it gives simply too much contrast. In this case, it has created a sky so dark that the black gondola is indistinct.
