Clever
work Jacob. Did these people notice you? How close were you?

Extremely good. The contrast of the child with the bold samurai; coupled with the contrast of the dark complex figures against the empty (even geometrical) background. Unusually good conversion from color film. Very rich and deep visually. Title needs work. Welcome to the site Jacob.
Anker Heegaard 17-Feb-2003 at 11:24I don't believe they noticed me. They were on my first flight from Orlando to Miami which was a connecting flight to somewhere else, I remembered the fathers shirt which was very colorful. I just happened to see them again walking through the airport when I held up the camera and took one shot, the camera was not to my face, was a total grab shot. I just got lucky. Come to find out we were on the way to the same plane which was flying to NC. I never spoke with the subjects, it is more fun that way sometimes.
Jacob Langston 17-Feb-2003 at 14:54unbelievable grab shot!
This is almost too complex and poignant a shot to be a grab shot! Really nice capture, and nice rendering as well -- the texture and tonality of the boy's skin is nicely offset by the harsh institutional lines of the wall's corner & suspended ceiling, and the ominous graphic lines of the shirt's imagery. It's also just perfect to have only one eye peeking out -- all told, really nice image! Don't denigrate grab shots too much, either -- you saw a great image and made it happen.

Welcome to the site and thank you for the treat!
Jerome Belthrop 03-Apr-2003 at 12:29The look
of the young boy completely defines the picture. I like it very much.
