Jan, I've been wondering where you've been. The site has been much the poorer without your beautiful landscapes showing up on a regular basis. As soon as I saw this was yours, I immediately checked to see if the tenth and final spot had been filled in the print exchange so I could drop a hint that you join in. I see though you are already in. Which ever of your images you select, it will add significantly to the quality of the print set. All that said, this is another beautiful image, though on my monitor it appears as though it may have been oversharpened a bit. Anybody else seeing halos on this one?

Jan, I'm not seeing any evidence of over sharpening on my older Apple Multi Sync monitor at home. On the TFT at the office, I thought I noticed some faint light halos, only a few pixels wide around some of the poles as would be consistent with a bit too much unsharp masking. I'd say if you're not seeing it and no one else has noted such, I was probably mistaken. I seem to recall that Knut displayed a shot similar to this some time back. Are these poles common at European beaches? What is their purpose?
