Hay Rake - Thomas Munch

I've always been interested in the distortion that a near-far perspective allows, so I decided to see how large I could make the wheel on a hay rake appear (with my recently acquired 28/2.8 Biogon, manual focus at about 2m).

oops..
...make that manual focus at about 0.5 m.

I've always loved the 'near and far' effect available with the wide angle lenses.

your point of focus, just out of interest. I do not have the B28mm but found in the past that D28mm never gave me as much of a whoosh effect as I wanted...now where did I put that spare £500 for the 21mm?

I was experimenting with the 28 and a table of hyper-focal distances this day...I think I manually focused just slightly beyond the wheel in the foreground. Yes, a 21 would have been nice this day...but I'm content with the 28!

This is a very strong image, I love the way the blue sky and clouds show through the spokes of the wheels. Perfect use of the 28 mm.
