New Year at Malibu Creek - Alan Ehrlich

Took this picture on my second roll with my new G1. Used 45mm lens at f8 on, would you believe, Kodacolor Gold 200 (I think). Scanned it on Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II at 2820dpi. Did a little dodging and buring in Photoshop 6, cropped to to a square, and used a little saturation sponge on the sunlight reflection off of the mountains. The lighting is just the way it looked, absolutely unreal. Hope you like it. Alan

Looks like Burne-Jones' England. I'd expect to find just around the corner a knight in full plate armour with his head cradled in a lady's lap cannopied by long titian tresses. Phenomenal work Alan. Take three gold stars and go to the top of the class.

Don't like the square format and the tree situated in the middle. Why manipulating with Photoshop? Because it was an uninteresting picture I think and nothing can change it....

Yes, the image is manipulated! And, its quite pleasingly manipulted--that single tree in the 'middle" is actually a "V" for victory. And the light-- is --- soothing, and if Max Parrish could see it he would give you a Thumbs-up, too.
