The lighting

is too harsh. I agree that another background would improve this image a great deal. Also the lighting accentuates your wifes nose. By having the just enough light on the right side of her face will give the shot a better balance and compliment your attractive wife.

In context

of other shots in the portfolio, I don't find this too harsh, contra Tim C. The lighting gives a curiosuly ghostly, ethereal effect which is again complimented by your use of grainy film. Interesting to see these shots in light of the discussion with Leslie H re digital's smoothness.
