walking near the edge of light and darkness - Robin Kleb

It seems like this one could have some symbolic meaning, what with the woman striding towards the stairs in the sunlight and the two sinister men in the shadows about to take the easier escalator route. But what does that headless person leaning on the rail above mean? Some other fun stuff -- I don't know what those ghostlike shapes are on the escalator. They just appeared when I tried to pull some detail out of the darkest areas. Also, doesn't it kind of look like there are a couple geese and chickens up on the balcony with the headless person? But I'm almost positive that there were no real barnyard fowl present. And do the shadows on the stairs remind you of 35mm film? What does it all mean? :-)

Interesting

image. I like the contrast of light to dark as well as the male/female relationship. The 'ghost like shapes' may be do to inadequate agitation of the developer or residue left from the final wash. Really need to look at the negative to determine probable cause.

Contrast range

Great job with the large contrast range here. The lower left to upper right diagonal has a pleasing symmetry to it. The upper left and the whole lower right diagonal area balance so well. The bright area is a little too bright.

Graphic . . .

Robin after many -views- of walking near the edge of light and darkness-- I spied the escalator.
The graphic quality here is quite strong--I might like to see just a little darker detail in the patterns to her right--but that would spoil the --balance, eh? :-)

Composition

is superb...my kind of image, and it looks like you really worked at getting this one right. The only slight drawback is that the bright area is really overwhelming...in pulling out shadow detail, the scales might have been tipped a little too far in throwing the bright half higher.
