Moonrise over Esja - William Symington

Taken from Seltjarnarnes (just west of ReykjavÃk) in early March 2002. Extremely cold, the sun had just set behind me when this was taken. This is the first picture I have ever scanned.

Excellent
This is special. The sharpness of fore- and background, contrasted with the blur of the surf. The blue of the sky and blue of the water, and the light reflected, all work.

Nice color and detail here. Beautiful image. Maybe some less sky. There's nothing really going on there.
MARK MILLEN 10-May-2002 at 19:09Empty sky yes...
but I think it serves a purpose in reinforcing the bitter cold impression of the overall scene. I can only imagine how blue the skies must be this far north in the dead of winter.

The crisp and all too clear feeling of cold is excellently captured and scanned here. Terrific atmosphere.
