Nice, however....
Eric, I like the subject matter, but why is the woman smack in the center like a bull's eye? I think a little more creative composition might have improved it a little. I spent a month in Bali back in 94. Loved the place. No Contax at that time! Just my Nikon FE2 and a cheapo push-pull MF Tokina 35-135. Anymore from this trip we can see?

Eric ... imo this is a very good picture. I like your title and I tend to read the picture from the title and vice versa. When I look at the picture I see a lot of field, but very little dream. I tend to agree with Rick on this one (sorry Linc). What I lack is a door opening towards the "dreamworld". Maybe some wide horizon.

There are more to come. (Still figuring out this scanning thing - aren't we all.) I'll have to look at it off-centered. That's generally my inclination, but this must have felt right to me at the time. I used to be a big rule--of-thirds guys. But after awhile all my pictures started looking the same. I'll crop it a few different ways this weekend and post it somewhere. Deal? E.

Eric: After the lengthly comment that "Field of Dreams" has generated it would be interesting to have your reason for the title. Personally, I can't keep from wondering what the responses might have been to different titles, and how much of the current commnet has been generated by the title as opposed to the photo.
George Shadoan 12-Apr-2001 at 16:32Thank you all for your comments. This image was taken while my wife and I were on a hike through a farming village in the mountains, Each family had a very small field (perhaps an acre) where they grew rice; a cow, a pig, a dog, and a very tiny house. This field (and the hope of a good crop) was their dream. And coincidentally, it was the most beautiful place on Earth.

I noticed you have a lot of sympathy for you subjects. This makes much more than all zeiss equipment. Beside you have talent for great titles.
