Annika at One - Anker Heegaard

I tend to use the 35mm as my primary portait lens. My daughter, shortly before her first birthday, taken at a coffee shop in Arlington, VA. Click on image for larger version (500k).

my...
what a beautiful baby. Call me crazy but I can see a level of intelligence and sophistication in her gaze. What eyes, with that color hair! she's going to be a real beauty. You'll have your hands full fedning off the suitors later! As for the image I like the composition and framing but the background is distracting. You used good DOF here to offset her but still that arm does nothing. Please post more images of her. I'll be you have just a few more...;-)

young lady Anker. I can see she's got the Scandinavian expression, innovative intelligence, beauty, empathy, phantasy, stubbornness and wit already at this stage :-) Congratulation. I agree with Rich that the background doesn't do much for the picture. Are you having this pic in for the the baby shootout? I think that we can make room for this young lady princess.

Thanks for the invite, Knut, and for recognizing Nika's radiance (thanks also Richard). For the shootout, she doesn't qualify, as this pic is 5 mos. old, and she is now over one year. Alas, time passes so quickly. (Though, if there is a competition for kids over 1, send me the prize now.) Those in the baby shootout can now breathe again. ;-) --Anker
