Silvery. . .

Kevin so this is the quality of images I am missing by not using Acros? The composition is compelling.

Is that

a roadsign or simply a logo on your image?

Knut Skjærven     11-Apr-2002 at 06:34

It's a logo stamp

I started putting it onto almost all web images after I caught a stock house distributing one of my unstamped pics that they had "found." As for Acros, it's just arrived here -- I've only shot two rolls of it (both in the same 20-minute period), so haven't developed much of an opinion yet. I hope to shoot some portraits and compare to TMX in the next few days.

Very simple and effective composition. Well done.
Kevin, could you give a pointer to the stock house that illlegaly copied your images? Perhaps it's good for others to check them out as well - they may have nicked other stuff from contaxg. Do they have a website?

Crooks...

Actually, I no longer remember their name -- this was about six or seven years ago. They were in Spain, making it hard for me to prosecute. I discovered the larceny while analysing my (botzilla.com) web server logs. There several dozen unusual hits per day on just one image file -- but NOT to the enclosing HTML page! They had just linked the IMG tag directly to my server from THEIR HTML, thus making me pay for their internet traffic, too! I went to their site and found it listed in their catalog. My guess is that if they were selling it, they were just selling the same web-sized file, copied. EMails to them were ignored. I finally added a watermark to the image on my server, and watched the traffic decline quickly then cut off completely after about four days :/

Very cool.

Totally up my alley. (This and the crater shot.)
