A construction site in Beijing. It was late dusk, this guy was just getting off work. G2/45 Planar with a yellow filter - HP5+ pushed to 1600 in Tmax RS straight.

Sucessful Compositon

Great composition; the simplicity of the scene lends an unreal, dreamlike quality that only B+W can capture. Good Work!

Nice shot

Love the lighting. Burning-in or retouching the light out of the photo might make the shadows that much more dramatic. Your eye first goes to the light and then the guy -- wouldn't it be nice if it went right to the guy?

Light

Richard I find the light very distracting but without it the shadows wouldn't exist and if it was removed in photoshop the question would be 'where did the shadows come from.'
