Welcome

Very expressive model and successfully presented. Curious as to the site you designated as your homepage. Did you design the site?

Wonderful Subject

and a very well done portrait. I rarely see people with glasses shot as naturally and as effectively as this...usually, the compensation for glare results in some compromise. Also impressed with how well Delta 3200 performed here...did you pull the film at all? Anyway, terrific job with a compelling subject.

Jill

The woman is nicely lit and posed, except for her hand at bottom right; it looks as if it was partially amputated. The cropping could use a lot of help. The vertical at right (which I presume is a doorway) is not straight but takes off at an angle. Either fix it or eliminate it. Most distracting, however, is the mess at the left. THere is something out of focus yet casting a shadow on the wall. There is another intruding vertical, but this one even has a speck of light showing through at the very lower left frame corner. There is a tad too much white space on top, but that is inconsequential when compared to the distractions on the left which encroach upon the subject. (By the way, she IS rather cute.)

Great use of ambient light

This is really well done. The exposure is quite good as is the framing within the door frame

Nice

The lighting and subject look real nice. I kind of like the way the black border looks makes it look like the image was printed out past the edge of the frame. I wonder what it would look like going completely around. If we take away the background elementals then the back wall is just bare. It makes me think of the old hollywood shots that had these art-deco type painted backdrops.

Excellent

Wish I could take shots like that

Tones

Interesting tonal range and separation. The face tones are similar to those in the wall yet she stands out from the background. Very well executed.

Excellent

and a bit comical portrait. Good use of the 3200.

Thanks all

I appreciate equally the praise and criticism. As for the "mess", this was a personal choice. Anyone can pull a white seamless. I just thought that would spell sterility. Also, it wasn't ambient light. It was a big high tungsten.
