And aunt. G1, 45mm, Ilford XP2 After staring at this for a while, I re-printed it to snap the image up a little and remove distractions.

Great Folder!
I'm very impressed by your two portraits of your aunt and uncle and by the Luggage picture. Can you tell us more on how you use the XP2? Are these pictures scanned directly from the negative, or from prints? Any Photoshop manipulation?
Gilberto Colangelo 06-Apr-2001 at 07:00Why, thank you!
Thanks for the compliments! It made my day! XP2 is an extremely versatile film in the right hands. It can be exposed from EI 50 to EI 800, and the lower the speed, the finer the grain, although the negative does become slightly denser as you might expect. I use this fact to control contrast in my pictures - the Zeiss lenses are SO superb to start with. For a high contrast subject, such as direct sunlight, lowering the EI with XP2 lets me get more detail into all the shadows, making the negatives a cinch to print. Lowering film speed is always a good idea anyway (with B&W) and every photographer should test film with their camera and determine THEIR effective film speed. I don't have space to go into detail, but I'll happily write an article on the subject if anyone wants.

Vish ... and I thought everything could be done with Fuji Superia :-) After seeing your folder I have to revise that. Excellent series of pictures. Wish I ever will come close to this. Congratulations.

The portrait of your uncle alone is already great, adding to this the out focus smille of your aunt in the background gives an outstanding result ! wery well done!
