My favorite!
Ib, this really is an amazing shot! You need to get a huge print made and put it over your desk. It can be difficult to capture the amazing scales of the mountains, but you have achieved it here! The firewood carrier and roadway leads the eye thru the image and adds some sense of the magnitude of the mountains stacked up in the background. The churning clouds adds to the ruggedness of the landscape. Fabulous shot! Linc

Well done indeed. This is, imo, (one of) your best shot ever. Lots on things in place here :-).
Knut Skjærven 01-Nov-2009 at 13:51thanks guys, I reckon I should've cloned out the cows perhaps?? Either way, i prefer the Hunza photo next to this one.
Ibbi 01-Nov-2009 at 19:51Awesome - no hesitation in clicking a 10. This is one hell of a great shot. Wonderful colours. The scene is tremendous and you've captured it and framed it to perfection.

The balance of the brown / orange grass and building with the blue / purple mountains and sky is particularly pleasing. I did wonder if the man with firewood could have been closer to the camera but on reflection that would probably just detract from the mountains.
Peter Brooks 02-Nov-2009 at 05:13I hope to see this picture in the Hall of Fame in two months from now (it is in a very good way), as I wish you, Ibraar, to be part of this prestigious club, you deserve it for a long time!

Salut Ibb, I agree with all what have been wrote : terrific ! But I would prefer the man to be a little bit bigger in the image. Don't you think about making a panorama with it ? I tried with a ratio of 1:2.5 and it gives an absolute fantastic image. Very well done anyway. Best regards,
Fab 02-Nov-2009 at 08:40Linc, Knut, Ray, Peter, Fred, Fab, thanks for the comments and generous ratings. truth be told, I was not going to upload this as I didn't think it was very good! So I was very surprised at the ratings and comments - I thought the kalasha girl would be more highly rated than this!
Ibbi 02-Nov-2009 at 15:11Monsieur Gif,
Unfortunately, talent and good results are not what gets a deserving photog into the HOF. Linc
Linc 02-Nov-2009 at 15:51Congratulations.... would be a beautiful poster! Serene - reminds me somehow of aeter Bruegel (1525-69), Landscape with the Fall of Icarus. To be really picky: it is not highly original and the bottom left corner takes some attention away from the walking man. But you cant crop the image because it would remove the cow, which I like. It will deserve its place in HoF.
