Manhatten view - MARK MILLEN

This image required considerable manipulation to get it right. The 21mm lens made the buildings in the uper part of the picture lean out. I isolated these upper quadrants and corrected the distortion. Then I pulled the lower corners a bit to get them line up. The bottom of the picture looks almost straignt down. I used the unsharp mask on this one (finally!). This image was taken from the New York side of the George Washington Bridge sometime in early November 2001. I took 2 pictures of this scean; about 4 feet apart; to make a stereo pair. It looks really cool in 3D.

Technically
Mark, I've wanted to comment about your images, often, but have not made the time in my busy schedule to speak about them intelligently. I've driven through and hammed about New York and Bronx, some. I think this image captures NYC and its environs. Tell me, by email if you like (rom@attglobal.net) about the technique you used to fix the 21mm slanting of the verticals in this image. I am eager to see the before as well as the after image--and hear your 'how-you-did it story in detail.
