She ain't heavy...

but the shot does not work for me. More selective focus may have blurred the BG enough to avoid the statue being distracting. Unless Linc can read the note, I wonder whose heart is pierced?!

What I can read

... is something like
Dear Gracie, I'm sorry that (...) died (...) We're only six (...) To now what hap(...) pleas(e) write me (...) I heard that (...) good (...).
BTW I don't think the statue is distracting. B

Thanks for the feedback,

I know the note is hard to read even when you view full-size. It was written in pencil, and then part is obscured by the cast iron fence. It reads, "Dear Gracie, I'm sorry that you died. ...you were only six. I woud like to now what happen to you. Pleas write me back. I heard that you were a good little girl." The statue in the background inside the cast iron fence is Gracie's tombstone. I was touched by the scene, but I have to admit I found it difficult to make it translate to film.

Sensitive

Bryan, you are not alone, I, too, would have tried to capture the sentiment in this difficult to render scene. You've done a well here--the obstacles with which you have to maneuver amongst to achieve this "good" print are substantial. I would have been tempted, no, I would have lopped of the image at the top of the statue and left out the horizontal bars at the top open--foolishly! The background is essential to the mood; I dare not critique the DOF choice. How many exposures did you use? Nice work!
