wow, terrific feeling and exposure

the way in which you have handled the whites, greys and skintones here, and the dark background against which it appears, is just terrific. One of the very best in the competition if you ask me. Best regards, Bert

Yes,

it is eminent. Must have been done by one of our master photographers, Hmm ... Knut

Masters!!!!!!!!!

Knut, I know there are are number of excellant talents on this web site but why must you assume that it is by one of them. I think we all have a certain degree of talent to pull a good image out the bag. It could have been anyones image why because it is good should it be assumed to be by one of the so called masters!!!!! Great image by the way. I look forward to discovering who the master is......

Lookd like a "Master's"

planned photo to me. This level of control is, IMO, no accident. Great exposure.

Richard

Congratulations winning the competition. This is, indeed, a fine image from one of the "masters" of this site :-). Tell me, is this a candid shot? Best wishes Knut

:)

Brilliant photo! And congratulations upon winng the competition. email me at ibraarh@hotmail.com and let's discuss whether you'd like the Velvia, or SFX 200 plus filter and HOW to get them to you! Once again - you're a master!

Baltasar?

My friend, I was disappointed to see no entries from yourself :( Hope it's not because of me or anything - as I get the feeling you like me not - or is that just paranoia? If so, then I apologise for whatever it may be

Number of entries

The number of entries wasn't too great, but the quality was high. would be great for any future competitions to attract more. ALSO would be great for winners to be allocated a place on the HALL OF FAME for that year!

I am sincerely flattered. Thank you. Sorry for not replying to this earlier, we had a three-day weekend her in the US and I was out of town and did not catch up on my personal emails until last night. Yes, this was a candid shot in so much as it was not specifically set-up or posed. It is my wife and son in a noodle shop we frequent not too far from our home. I had taken along the G2 specifically to shoot some "low light" shots knowing it was late afternoon and that we'd be walking around afterwards and into the evening. The sun was coming in this restaurant at a strong angle just before sundown and created a beautiful glow off and around the table. I took about 5-6 shots of them in various poses but this one, I thing the 4th shot, clearly came out the best. I do not shoot my G2 as much as I used to mostly carrying around smaller compact cameras like my Contax T2, a Rollei 35T, a Vivitar 35EM and an Olympus XA---what can I say? I'm an experimenter at heart and when I see a price on a good camera I buy it. Also been doing a lot of experimenting with Leica-mount lenses (both Leica lenses and others), mostly older types, and doing a lot of work with a Hasselblad kit I got not too long ago and some with my Rolleiflex TLRs as well. Each and every time I come back to the G2 though it once again reminds me how crisp, sharp, contrasty and wonderful these lenses are.
