Marvelous

Absolutely first rate composition and exposure. The faint shoreline and tree seal the deal for me.

Really outstanding, Armen.

Less is a lot more if done masterly. A pleasure to the eye!

My only regret..

..the white framing. I'd rather see it with no frame at all. Well, just my opinion, of course. The best pic in a long time. Just my opinion, of course.

Baltasar Alvarez Quintana     26-Nov-2006 at 05:48

I agree with Baltasar on the framing.

Otherwise, this is excellent, proof that Armen is an outstanding photographer even when he leaves behind his superb approach to street photography, like he did here. Regards, Bert

Thanks, people, for your kind words. Agree about framing - one hadn't done more complex such a simple photo. Regards, Armen

:)

splendid! Now you can tell us HOW you managed to get such a surreal shot! Plz - we're all learning and could learn much from a brilliant photographer like yourself!

Ibbi     26-Nov-2006 at 17:55

very nice

Great use of the diffuse light. Did you push the exposure at all?

Gregg Humphrey     26-Nov-2006 at 20:48

Exposure compensation +2/3 then curves and of course thick fog

Armen Amirkhanian     27-Nov-2006 at 07:09

simply superior !

Arseni Kar     28-Nov-2006 at 18:34

really fine indeed

While I think the ratings have gone a bit crazy in recent months on these pages (probably accurate if you assume the figures seen are really out of 12), IMO this is one pic that really deserves top marks on any scale.

Christopher Belham     29-Nov-2006 at 13:29

Thank you, Arseni and Christopher!
