Chief on parade - phil devries

Jazz Fest 2006, New Orleans. A Mardi Gras indian chief walking through the fest with his protectors surrounding him. No one gets close unless they are part of the inner circle. Very serious folks.

Good documentary.journalistic work.

Thnaks for the comment on what we are seeing, it brings this to live. What you describe is something that we photographers are very sensitive too -- and I am sure that you are right in this case. Cheer, Bert

A Grabbber

Phil - both of the jazz festival images stand out and demand attention. Examination reveals all the detail one expects from these wonderful cameras when well used. I rarely visit this site any more, but scanning through and see these images makes me glad that I did. George Shadoan

George, your comments are truly appreciated. But as often the case a little story needs to be told. I too only occasionally visit this website, but upon receiving your comments I noticed that I had posted a BW taken with an M6!! Tis now deleted to preserve the integrity of the site. Nevertheless, I agree absolutely about the G's and their lenses. Magic in all forms, and they always give more than you expect. Very please you liked the photographs. Will post more if you promise to be brutally honest about them. Cheers, Phil
