I think your image *2 is far better. This one is not a bad profile image, but for me, if the subject's hand is going to be so prominent, it needs to convey something. Here, I think the subject's hand does nothing and so detracts.

FWIW, I concur wtih

both earlier comments. The compositions of the hand detracts from an otherwise admirable exposure.
