What a look of apprehension!

Glenn: I like everything about this shot (texture of background, look in face of youngster, exposure), except that if I were going for the minimalism like this I might be inclined to move her farther into the lower left-hand corner (maybe half way to the edge) and make the composition with even more sparse.

These were actually taken about two years ago, but at a different time from the first group. I've done this 3-4 times now, I think. I basically put the camera on a tripod, outline a "space" on the blank wall, and invite people to come occupy that space while I take their picture. You sometimes get rather unusual results; other times, it's just a simple portrait.

What a great series

and a great concept. Hope you believe that imatition is the sincerest form of flattery. I just may try it. Have you considered doing this every year as your family grows and grows up?
