Marvellous composition.

This is an odd crop, and one I don't think I would ever have thought of, but it works wonderfully. As Eddie McLaughlin said, this is a marvelous composition. I would love to know your thoughs on this unusual crop that works so well. By the way, the tonality is extraordinary too.

The rigorous crop and the grey tonality work very well. Interesting what kind of pictures you can take with the 90 mm lens.

This shot works so well. The crop is unusual but it works great with this. Tone is beautiful. I love the image. Gary

You know, one of the things that strikes me are the various "layers" in the picture. First, there's a set of horizontal layers, ranging from the sliver of sky at the top, down through the ground behind the water, the water itself, and finally the foreground. Then, there's the strong verticals of all the background trees as a counterpoint. Finally, the tree stumps that look (to me, at least) like hands provide a powerful dose of 'less formal' texture in the picture. Very, very well seen.
