I decided to put this up to share my conclusion about Contacx G 2 after having used G2s and lenses for many years. It has always been a neat camera to carry for vacations or going for a stroll. But my main concern was whether this camera is good enough for professional works or not. By professional works, I mean photojournalism, replacing Leica Ms for an instance. How much of abuse it can take ? ? In recent years, I have been using only G2s for my professional works (documentary work) and am extremely happy with its performance and quality of the images they produce. I have used them in many different conditions (some times extremely dusty and humid). They always worked w/o major problems. For the first time in five years, I will have them cleaned at a Kyocera service office. For those who have just bought the Gs or have been using for years but not yet convinced about the quality and versatility, I can assure you that you have made the right choice. ( I am not commissioned to say this by Kyocera, in case you are wondering). I will put up more images on my website soon. Selected for the Hall of Fame on 2004/Oct/01

I can't imagine having the speed or the skill (or even the luck) to capture and image like this. Amazing. Kevin

K. Michael Photography 12-Jul-2004 at 19:25Did he get you?
No, I suppose you shot him first (sorry!). In addition to the perfect timing of this and th excellent focus and exposure, I really appreciate you sharing the information about the durability and reliability of the G2. Well done to both you and the camera.

"Tension" is the best word to qualify this picture. Tension in the eye, tension in the bow. A wonderful framing. And the certainty, now confirmed, that a face partially hidden helps to focus on eyesight. Great, great job, Yoshi.

I came back in one piece. All i was thinking (rather hoping ) during this shot was that he is a good hunter and would give the gazelle a finishing arrow.......not at me.
yoshi shimizu 13-Jul-2004 at 13:25the aura/background spoils it a bit

This is suberb image. I don't know what to add that hasn't been said by everyone. The oof arrow almost looks 3D to me. And those eyes. Wow. Photography at the highest level. Gary
