Wish I would have taken this!
Great image. Was this posed? What scanner did you scan with and what did you do in the Digital Darkroom to achieve such shadow detail and light? AWSOME!

Perfect shot. May I ask how you processed the film? Thanks. richard.fraj@gordic.cz

At first sight I loved the image but i am increasingly distracted by the blown out highlights on the arm an hair. They take the emphasis off the face where all the interest is. Is there any highlight detail on the negative which could take these areas down a bit while leaving the high contrast feel of the image as a whole?

This was not a posed shot. It's what I call a grap shot. I had Wal-Mart scan the negs onto a CD and used PS to "tweak" the image. I used the "level" feature in PS to adjust the photo.

I rate Ilford HP5 at 200 ASA. Had my photolab process it normally. Used PS to adjust the levels.

If I remember correctly, it was a very sunny day and the subject was standing in direct sunlight. The highlights are as you see them. Couldn't do anything to tone them down.
