I like this one &would rate it

higher if some PS work were done to bring out more of its inherent merit. Am I correct in assuming that no curves adjustment or sharpening has been done?

Yes,

I agree with George. The composition is very satisfying and a touch of sharpening and colour work would make it a fine image.
