I am not
sure what to rate here. Your trip to Africa or the shot.

I gave a silent "aack" when I saw you'd taken this with the 45 and not the 90 (even if you were inside a glass and metal box). This is one situation where I'd wish for the mythical G 135mm. I like how her buff color and fur's texture separated her from the foliage. Herr Zeiss, I think helps a bit here. What an exciting subject. --Rick

The shot is well timed, the framing is good (slightly off centre adds to feeling of motion) and the smooth tones as already commented are complementary. You certainly could add one for bravery.

The beast's gracefulness is well captured, Trym I find this image a magical mix of all my favored oil paintings by Henri Rousseau.
Jerome Belthrop 22-Jan-2004 at 02:53Aaack indeed!
My back of the envelope calculation puts her at 4.3 metres away (assuming she is 2 m long). The concentrated stare and hanging head certainly convey some menace.

Great wildlife shot! I think this image would benefit from a slight boost in contrast. Maybe not as much as what any of the auto features (auto color, auto levels, auto contrast) in Photoshop would give you, but just enough to give it a little more "zing."
