Trym,
This is an excellent composition. The contrasting colors work well together, but I think some technical improvements could make the image even better. There seems to be some lack of contrast that would show off the patterns of the dunes to their best. Also, please notice that if the scan is not absolutely "clean" in areas such as the sky, your handywork will not be regarded with the pleasure it deserves. You can remove any of those spots by showing the scan at "actual pixels" and cloning out the offending spots. I spent a couple years in East Africa, but never got to see any interesting dune features like this. Nice shot! Linc

Velkommen! In english a short version; I'm impressed by the colors even thoug the background is a bit too "weak" IMO regarding colors.

If it is, I'd rate it '9' or vven '10' if you would clean up the sky and if the image were sharp. The usnharpness might be a downsampling issue - you might want to check out my [article on this topic|http://contaxg.com/document.php?id=3163]

The contrasts between,"thirds" in this image are delightful, Trym. Clean-up the hubris in the sky third and this image will gleam as does a well polished gem stone.
