Sugar Mountain - Linc

This part of an effort to show the strong sand patterns in such a way that they and the full dune, dominate the image. It proved critical to have my 28mm focussed properly, even with a relatively small f8 aperature.

Camera:   Contax G2
Lens:   Carl Zeiss Biogon 28mm f/2.8
Film:   Provia 100f
Exposure:   f8, auto

Filter:   None
Adjustment:   Normal color workup. Convert to grayscale via channel mixer. Slightly darken and just added a touch of contrast after a 100 USM sharpening.

Beautiful

I especially like the perspective and texture.

Moon shot?

How were you positioned to get this wonderful curvature? The DOF does not quite stretch to the immediate foreground - I wonder if a short focal length would have improved this already good image?

This does have an extra-terrestrial feel to it....

andwhilst not 100% sharp front to back it illustrates the patterns and textures really well as they draw you into the image. Nice one Linc.
