I like the professional look in this image - thanks to the photographer and the model, both, I think. Technically and composition-wwise everything seems perfect and there is nothing unnatural about it either. Congratulations!
BTW I don't think it is needed to mention 'resampling in Photoshop' as an 'adjustment'. Who scans 800-pixel images directly, these days?

Thank you

very much, Wilfred. I'm honored, ...you see, your work is one of my favorites on this site. Well, about the "resampling", "adjustments" and "who scans 800...", - I do! I'm extremely bad at this, but I'm willing to learn. Perhaps it's an idea to read what you have written about the subject. Give me some time.

Intriguing the way you lit from the short side of the frame

The lighting / framing really gives it a different look that works here.

This is really good. I would blast it with unsharp mask, bump up the contrast and sell it to Topshop (UK highstreet clothing shop) who will hang it in their window nationwide and encourage all young girls to wear more eyeliner.

I like a number of the contributions Bernt has made recently, but as I've provided one of the lower ratings on this image, I guess I should say something (rather than providing a "drive-by" so-so rating which doesn't help the poster and which is all too common on the Web and this site). I love Maria's eyes and the tonality is pretty nice, but the perspective and presentation don't quite work for me...all is fair in love and fashion, so distortion is far from bad, but here I think the size of her forehead and the image borders just don't appeal to me. I do hope there are more images of Maria coming, though...what eyes!

What I meant to say is that most people scan at a higher resolution so that they can print at a reasonable size. For web presentation, downsampling is always needed, so I don't think it is really necessary to mention it here. OTOH, the term 'scan resolution' in the description box seems to suggest that we all post our images directly from the scanner. I think that's a bit confusing.
I'm not a typical portrait shooter myself and I'm usually not really attracted to the typical studio work that professional photographers show off in their shop displays. What I really like here is the non-posed, uncommon approach, yet, IMO a professional-looking shot. It is interesting to see that others don't feel that way.
