I've been admiring your work for some time. It's nice that you're showing these images here, but I take it you are professional or show in galleries? I didn't find any information about that on your page here. Your web page merely says "page not found" in Portuguese. I wouldn't like to think you're *only* sharing these lovely images here, much as I appreciate it. You should have a book or something; that's my opinion. Chas.
charles stewart 17-Dec-2003 at 16:27image has it all
the man, his environment, something of the way he's dressed, even some glimpse of the lighting from the reflection on his glasses. You can't get much better in my book. Also, the warm tones add a feeling to the image. Thus complying with my basic caveat of not introducing color unless it contributes positively.

add that extra touch that separates this image from many other good portraits. it connects this man to his work (along with the fire in the background) and it adds a touch of whimsy or oddity (since the protective glasses are so oversized). Anyway, excellent portrait.

shooting, Pedro. Congratulations.

I looked at this picture briefly yesterday and was not surprised to see it as top photo on the site when I came back tonight. This is a masterful environmental portrait. Color, composition, and technicals all perfect. Very, very nice.
Bruce McKinney 18-Dec-2003 at 15:41This is excellent; powerful.
Steve McBride 19-Dec-2003 at 06:57A very dramatic portrait
I like the pose and lighting very much. The background, even though blurred, is quite interesting.

Looks to be straight out of a N.G. assignment. Just a fantastic environmental portrait.
Gregg Humphrey 20-Dec-2003 at 11:37Great Portrait
I agree that the glasses help "make" the image.
Don 21-Dec-2003 at 18:45Wonderful
Great bokeh, color, sharpness. The subject looking in to the camera with head tilted slightly away...everything about the photo is first class.
Warren Dennis 22-Dec-2003 at 16:43Bright Triangle
in the center is what makes it for me -- beautifully balanced shot, draws the eye very well.
Kevin Bjorke 23-Dec-2003 at 16:45Vibrant. . .
These rich dark shadows, Pedro and the light in the mid-frame make me think he is working at a hot forge. The portrait has a refined poignant grist. Additionally, his skin tones are fantastically rendered.
Jerome Belthrop 24-Dec-2003 at 03:23Reflections?
I keep coming back to the image (at least it confronts me on every logon due to its deserved success) certain of its quality, but somewhat disturbed by the reflection in the glasses (nit-picking? Certainly). Wonderful shot and speaks volumes.
mike wing 24-Dec-2003 at 05:08a simple portrait this is not. One of the best I've seen thus far Pedro and its wonderful and National Geographic quality no less
Ed Ng 13-Apr-2004 at 06:56I like it.
Gosto Muito!
