Walk - Jacob Langston

An afternoon walk down the beach, film scanned in grainy, plus it is sand, so that adds to it, but I still liked it.

Awesome. This image I would frame. The grain works well. Congrats.

in the same vein as Fly and probably from the same outing - if so it was a successful one. I love the composition here and the reflections. My eye has trouble finding somewhere to rest as I am continually drawn to the legs down into the reflections and back up, challenging! The ammount of grain is not to my taste but can see that many would have this as an image on their walls. Keep the posts coming Jacob.

The legs become more and more abstract as I look at them. It works for me because they are in step and the left legs are completely black. I also think that the grain works well.

It's kind of an unusual set of leading lines but it sure works. You leaned on the contrast enough to really make it jump, well done. No problems with the grain.

Apart from the brilliant composition and the shadows of the legs, I think it's the thin layer of water with its reflections that make this image so special. It seems the grain brings back the sandy look that the water took away.

The reflections make this image and I like the way my eye finds no rest as it searches for more in the graininess.
Charez Golvala 26-Jun-2003 at 00:51like the grain...
the reflection in the thin skim of water makes this image. i love the way the legs are so in unison. in this i actually like the grain, despite my comments about the grain in Fly, as it adds to the whole character of the image.

Jacob, "Walk" has a lovely, idealized rural feel. Yes, this is pastoral--seldom do modern images evoke or equate "beach" with "rural." That makes this rendering exception worthy.
Jerome Belthrop 26-Jun-2003 at 05:30The more I look at this image the more I like it...
hence the change in rating!
Carl Radford 26-Jun-2003 at 05:48its a ten . .
I browsed back and looked at this image in your portfolio and found that I was even more pleased this time around by the "Walk." It is a nine, not a half-hearted eight, Jacob.
