#1 - Bernt Kristian

My brother died in cancer this easter. Some weeks later we were out looking for a gravestone in the forest by his home. I had to try this shot when the sun came through. The motionblur is done on purpose when I shot the picture. The feeling in the picture kind of corresponds with how we felt at the time, ...- and how we still feel... Bernt

i really dont know how you achieved the motion blur but the picture's got a very holistic/spiritual feel to it despite (or because of) the whites

The more I look at this image...

the more the odd white borders seem to lead me out of it. The way the light appears to radiate is very cleverly done but I feel the rest of the image needs to be stronger somehow!

nice image

a nice image, but this is spoilt for me by the white border on two sides, personally i wouldnt have the white at all as it detracts from the image.

Thank you for your comments

The comments have been both educational and warming. The fact about this picture is that I used f/16 so the exposure-time became long, 2 or 4 sec. I don't remember. I wanted to achieve the motion blur while I took the picture. I held the camera still during the first part of the exposure- time, and I moved the camera downwards to the left at the end of the exposure-time. The white border around the picture is nothing more than clumsy use of the scanner. I will scan this image over again, but I am buying a new scanner soon, so I'll wait till then. All the best Bernt
