Shadowed - Jerome Belthrop

Contax G2, 35mm, Tri X, Auto, Cropped and sharpened. The lines are still long in Degerloch, particuarly, this one -- the product -- BSE free beef.

The less one puts in the frame the more others will see in it. This image strongly stimulate my imagination, I'd say it is somehow "cinematographic" as it reminds me Bergman, Truffaut, Pasolini... and yes, tragic. Sincere compliments.

This image looks like it's a newspaper print. No subtle tonal ranges, all the highlights are blown out and no detail in the shadows. It seems you broke all the rules of 'preserving as much of the original as possible'. But in this case, it's very effective. It emphasizes the strong composition. IMHO, this is by far the best you submitted so far.
One small remark: I would crop the black line at the bottom of the image. No big deal.
Loch ...
BTW, where is Degerloch? AFAIK, 'loch' means 'hole' in German and 'lake' in Scottish. I'd vote for Scotland, but BSE is an item in Germany, too - I'm really getting curious ...
